The Information and Data Protection Office has been formally established under the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Act 2026. Patreyk Narjid has been appointed by the Koru as the IDPO’s Director.
The Office is an independent regulator responsible for protecting personal data, upholding the public’s right to access information and enforcing data protection law across the Hokorian State.
The IDPO will oversee how public authorities, businesses and organisations collect, use and protect personal data. It will also supervise how Freedom of Information requests and Subject Access Requests are handled.
The Office has the power to investigate complaints, resolve disputes, issue binding orders and impose administrative fines where the law is not followed.
Members of the public can make a complaint to the IDPO where they believe their data rights have been breached or where a Freedom of Information request has not been handled properly.
Public authorities, businesses and organisations are reminded that they must comply with the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Act 2026 and with any binding directions issued by the IDPO.
Guidance, forms and contact details from the IDPO are already published for members of the public, businesses and organisations and for public authorities.
